What it does

Music Master provides six browser-based modules for practising music theory and aural skills. Students can use the free app without an account, while schools can pay for classes, assessments and teacher reporting around the same practice material.

Choose the skill to practise

  • Note Ninja covers staff notation and keyboard note recognition.
  • Interval Sensei practises interval identification.
  • Scale Guru works on scales, key signatures and transposition.
  • Chord Wizard covers triads, seventh chords, inversions and harmony activities.
  • Rhythm Sage provides rhythm listening, tapping and transcription work.
  • Pitch Maestro focuses on aural pitch skills.

The free student app includes the modules and practice modes without requiring a login. Progress is stored on the device, which matters if students move between computers or clear their browser data.

Free practice and the school edition

The paid school version adds teacher administration, classes, assessment and course-building features. Its annual school licence covers unlimited users within the licensed school. A public school demonstration is available for inspecting the teacher workflow before buying.

Music Master runs in a browser. Use working speakers or headphones for the listening exercises. The public practice app and the paid school system serve different needs: students can practise independently for free, while teachers who need central results and assignments should examine the school edition.

Music Master and The Music Machine share a maker, but their workflows differ. Music Master concentrates on individual theory and ear-training practice, with school assessment features.

Alternatives to Music Master

Musicca is an external alternative for browser exercises in notation, intervals, chords, scales and rhythm.

EarMaster is an external alternative for structured ear training and sight-singing practice, including education workflows. Compare its practice approach with Music Master’s six-module format.
